What is bitGPT Network?
The AI revolution is already here. Each day brings new ideas, breakthroughs, and real-world applications. Millions of lives have already changed. And soon, billions will join them, with the power of AI influencing nearly every aspect of our lives, whether we’ve opted in or not. We are truly witnessing one of the greatest technological revolutions in human history unfold in real time.
The evolution of AI, however, has just begun. How this technology matures, what drives its trajectory, and who holds the keys to its power remains wholly unclear. The question today isn’t whether the AI revolution will occur, but what it will look like. How will the AI landscape evolve over the coming months, years, and decades? Who will this revolution work for, and what will it prioritize and value? If AI represents the greatest technological revolution of our time, then the the matter of how that movement evolves becomes the greatest question of our time. It is this question that spawned the creation of bitGPT.
One of the key drivers of the AI revolution will be the advent and mass adoption of AI Agents. These semi-autonomous actors will soon be pervasive. They will be making millions, and then billions, and eventually trillions of critical decisions on daily basis across the globe, optimizing complex delivery networks for logistic operators, rebalancing investment portfolios for multi-billion dollar hedge funds, and ordering your favorite sushi for takeout just as you’re about to take your lunch break. More and more, these agents will be working together, executing cross-agent transactions across huge numbers of disparate networks and services using an unimaginable amount of data: an AI-powered shadow network running the world’s infrastructure, and in many ways, our lives. Many call this the agentic economy, and it’s a world nearly all of us will live to see.
But there’s a problem.
Where are the humans in this loop? And which humans are included? How do we make sure this agentic economy works for everyone, preserving individual privacy and data sovereignty without limiting the full potential of an AI-powered world? These are complex questions that will be answered — intentionally or otherwise — through how the foundational layers of this economy are formed. In other words, the evolution of these foundational layers over the next few months and years will have an enormous impact on the world we will soon experience. After nearly a half-century, foundational protocol layers like IP, TCP, BGP, and SMTP are still used widely today to operate the global internet: the world’s last major technological breakthrough. Our AI future may prove similar, placing huge importance on how we structure these foundational layers today.
First and foremost, bitGPT is a network: the bitGPT Network. It is not just a tool — it’s a paradigm shift in how our AI future will evolve. We want a future where AI works on behalf of humans, with their personal data privacy and security concerns remaining within their control. We want access to be universal, with everyone having the ability to safely, securely, and confidently improve their lives with the latest AI breakthroughs. And just as importantly, we want a future where the AI landscape can flourish to its full potential, where new AI services and networks can be deployed rapidly with interoperability included by default, allowing innovation to compound faster and more effectively. We call this the delegation economy: an AI-powered future where both humanity and agents work together to achieve impossible things without sacrificing what makes us human.
After years in stealth, our team is prepared to make the delegation economy a reality. At its core, the bitGPT Network is built on a hub-and-spoke architecture, balancing the efficiency of centralized computing with the security and decentralization of edge devices. With a next-gen architectural topology combining mechanisms like proxy layers, blind training protocols, secure enclaves, thresholded Paillier homomorphic encryption, and zero-knowledge proofs, plus a focus on SLMs over LLMs, the bitGPT Network represents a ready-made foundational layer for our AI-powered future that is by default universally interoperable, privacy preserving, and accessible to all.
We encourage you to take a deeper dive into the rest of our Docs to learn more about how our network functions, what you can use it for, and what its own evolution will look like. If you have any questions, jump on our Discord channel for direct access to the team.
Welcome to the movement. We’re glad to have you.
